MEET JONATHAN – THE WORLD’S OLDEST TORTOISE! 🐢 Born around 1832, Jonathan the giant tortoise has seen almost two centuries of history. He was brought to the island of Saint Helena in 1882 as a gift, and he’s lived there ever since on the grounds of the governor’s residence. Now at 192 years old, Jonathan has lived through the invention of the telephone, electricity, airplanes, and even the internet. He’s officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living land animal on Earth.
